Why You'll Love It
Simple ingredients
Just goat milk, chia seeds, fruit and optional vanilla.
Easy to make ahead
Prepare it in a few minutes and leave it in the fridge until you're ready to serve.
Naturally sweet
Mashed banana or applesauce adds sweetness without the need for added sugar.
Made for little spoons
The chia seeds create a thick, spoonable pudding that's great for babies and toddlers.
Make It Your Own
Once your little one is comfortable with the ingredients, try changing things up with different fruits and toppings.
Add mashed berries, pear or peach, sprinkle with a little cinnamon, or top with soft pieces of fresh fruit appropriate for your child's age and stage.
If your little one prefers a smoother consistency, you can also blend the pudding before serving.
Using Goat Milk Powder When Starting Solids
Good Goat Milk Powder is made from just one ingredient: full cream New Zealand goat milk.
Goat milk can be used as an ingredient in foods from around 6 months, once your baby has started solids and is developmentally ready. Recipes like this chia pudding are an easy way to incorporate goat milk into family foods.
Before 12 months, however, goat milk should not be given as a replacement for breast milk or infant formula as your baby's main drink. Breast milk or infant formula should remain their primary source of milk nutrition during the first year.
As with any new food, introduce ingredients in a way that's appropriate for your baby's age and stage. Goat milk is a dairy product and contains milk proteins, so take appropriate care when introducing it as an allergen and speak with your child's healthcare professional if you have any concerns.
Storage
Keep prepared chia pudding covered in the refrigerator and enjoy within 48 hours.
Give it a good stir before serving. If it becomes thicker than you'd like, stir in a small amount of prepared goat milk until you reach the desired consistency.
